What we expect from you

As a Research Engineer in Industrial Digitalization

- Industrial Engineering, IT, Data Science, you will be at the heart of our mission in training, research, and innovation at the Henri Fayol Center for Management and the Henri Fayol Institute of Research.


At this center, you will combine scientific expertise and societal impact.

The Institut Henri Fayol is interested in actual transformations in numerical, ecological, and industrial transitions.


It develops algorithms and methods in the fields of industrial engineering, management, applied mathematics, and environmental sciences in connection with research units such as EEV UMR 5600, LIMOS UMR 6158, and COACTIS.

This recruitment aims to strengthen the skills of Mines Saint-Étienne in the field of industrial digitalization with perspectives on industrial, digital, and ecological transitions.


  1. You will ensure a set of teaching and research missions in connection with your specialties in one or more areas of industrial engineering, IT, or data science and in connection with the issues of industrial digitalization.

  2. You will participate in the development and implementation of innovative teaching or create courses for engineering cycle students at Mines, for apprentice students, and for continuing education students at Mines Saint-Étienne.

  3. You will conduct original research and have a strong impact in the field of data science, IT, or industrial engineering, collaborating with the socio-economic world (industries, services, communities, etc.) to provide innovative and sustainable solutions.

You are a doctoral student (or PhD) in Industrial Engineering, IT, or Data Science and have :



  • Scientific skills in one or more areas related to industrial engineering, with a focus on decision-making, IT, AI, data science, circular economy.

  • Confirmed experience in teaching (second or third cycle).

  • Proven expertise in scientific publishing and research valorization.

  • Mastery of English (level C1) and ideally an international experience.

Your additional assets:



  • Qualification for CNU sections 27, 61, or 26 would be appreciated.

  • Collaborations with industry and applied research.

  • The ability to develop interdisciplinary work and pluridisciplinary collaborations.

  • Involvement in scientific culture actions.
